PostHeaderIcon An Iconic Weekend

The Weekend of the 5th - 7th March will go down in history as one of the most memorable of my life. I had the humble priviledge of being invited by Dr David Molapo and his lovely wife Mamikie Molapo to a John C. Maxwell one day seminar.

Those that know me understand that I am an ardent follower and mentoree of John C. Maxwell. For the past 15-20 years we have run our Leadership Development Programme on John C. Maxwell’s material as a major component. I have bought and read all John C. Maxwell material and passed on this material to my wife, daughter and leadership in the church. So meeting with this icon was a major event in my life. Drs David and Mamikie Molapo thank you, thank you, thank you.

What was special was that my wife and I were part of a very, very select group of 25-30 people that had dinner with John C. Maxwell at Michelangelo Towers in Sandton. This group comprised of people like Pastor and Mrs Sibiya founders of One Gospel, business icons,Mr and Mrs Twala(Senior general manager of the largest manganese smelter in Africa),Rev Pearl Kupe,Pastor Jerry Lackey and senior executives from Absa and the business world .We had an opportunity to share our experiences with Dr Maxwell and even take a few photos. Wow! The following day I was supposed to fly out to Harare to the memorial service for Mrs Susan Tsvangirai as I was scheduled to be one of the speakers. But alas an early morning accident occurred and blocked the one lane that was open. The other lanes were closed because of construction. It took us over 25 minutes to get through only to meet another construction road block a few kilometers down the road and by the time we got to the airport the gates had been closed . We tried to negotiate our way and impress on SAA staff how important it was for me to get to Harare but to no avail. In times like these we have to remind ourselves of the word of God in Rom 8:28 “All things work together for good for those who love him and are called by His name” and Phil 4:6Be anxious for nothing but in everything through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make your requests known to God and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will safe guard your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus”

All was not lost though because I then attended the J. C. Maxwell seminar that whole day. Gallagher Estate Hall 3 was packed with over 1000 Business, Government and Church leaders present. Some of the “who is who” of South Africa were there and we had opportunity to network with people from all kinds of backgrounds.

We also managed to visit a number of mega churches in the Gauteng area starting with CRC in Pretoria and their fantastic tent –church concept, [see photo gallery]. Pastor Igmat [Youth Pastor] was kind enough to take us around the wonderful 3000 seater facility. They now run three services in this massive tent facility. We then went to Hatfield Christian Church, one of the longest serving and very stable church that has been around for a while. We were warmly welcomed and spent very insightful and precious time with Pastor Jack Ferreira who I took a likening to for his warmth and openness. We were encouraged to find out that HCC operated many of the principles we believe in and that have helped them make it a mega church with over 6000 members and 200 affiliate churches in South Africa alone. It was a very fruitful weekend. Thank you Pastor Igmat from CRC and Pastor Jack Ferreira from Hatfield and not forgetting our tour guide at Hatfield - Kgomotso.

February has been a very busy month, infact the year started on a busy note and I feel like I am already in August.

This month kicked off with preparations for the Woman Unlimited Conference in Maseru.

Maseru Woman Unlimited Conference

IT'S TIME FOR NEW BEGINNINGS”

The 9th of February we flew down to Gauteng on our way to the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. The Conference kicked off with a special business dinner at Southern Sun Cabanas with special guest and media celebrity Gerry Rantseli Elsdon. The next few days were days of awesome ministry from a variety of ministers like Pastor Gwen from the USA, Pastor Zandie Twala from Swaziland, Dr Taynibifor from Maseru Word Of Life and our covenant sister Rev Pearl Kupe. The highlight of the conference was the RED MARCH through the city of Maseru on Saturday. Please view the photo gallery and The Maseru Woman Unlimited Conference Video Highlights in our video section.

We thank God for the growth taking place in Maseru Church as they have outgrown their facility and are passionately look for an alternative venue or land to build. So Pastor Dube took me on a mini tour of Maseru and its environs. We had a marvelous opportunity to inspect a number of pieces of land in Dithabaneng ,where we already have purchased a building and land.We also inspected a beautiful piece of land with a spectacular view of Maseru. Please join us as we thank God for favor and blessing to obtain government permission for the purchase of this land. We continue to thank God for the pieces of land that the church already owns in Maseru including a half million rand piece of land.

IT'S RAINING BELOVED IN GAUTENG

On our way to and from Maseru we passed through the Sandton church to negotiate leases for new properties. I am glad to announce that we just signed a lease for a beautiful 2000 seater auditorium with lots and lots of office space for both the local church and the international office. We look forward to the renovations and interior work that needs to be done. Again your prayers and financial partnership would be deeply appreciated as we take this step to make a mark in the most influential city in Africa today.

NEW PASTORS IN BRAAMFONTEIN

At the same time as we were negotiating leases for Sandton we also prayed in Pastor and Mrs L.Ndhlovu (affectionately known as Pastor Luchie and Pastor Thembie or just The Luchies) as the new pastors at the Braamfontein branch. The Braamfontein Branch was established and overseen by Pastor and Mrs Tanyanyiwa together with the churches in Sandton , Pretoria and Soweto. They have done a sterling job in planting and raising these churches.Clear evidence of growth was there,as people packed the auditorium full and several overflow rooms ,as well as the standing shoulder to shoulder in the corridors. The excitement and expectation in the Braamfontein Church Service was almost palpable as people had been waiting for almost a year for the church to have its own pastors and be recognized as a fully fledged church in its own right. The handover –takeover ceremony was a solemn but spirit charged occasion that has left an indelible mark in the spirit for the church in Braamfontein. A day after the new appointment, God confirmed his favor and the word given during the Sunday service, regarding a move to new buildings and offices ,with a bigger building across the road being offered for lease to the Braamfontein Church. Hallelujah!! It's Raining Beloved. Much gratitude and appreciation for the excellent work done by Pastor and Mrs Tanyanyiwa.
