About Us

Word Of Life International Ministries was started in November 1990 in the living room of Dr and Mrs Shana. The number in attendance on that first day was an astounding 4 people! This was made up of Dr and Mrs Shana, their two year old daughter Nicolle and their housekeeper.

By the grace of God this number has since grown to over 4000 members in the founding city of Bulawayo Zimbabwe and over 8000 members all over the world in 30 Word Of Life International Churches and still growing.

Dr and Mrs Shana and Word Of Life International Ministries are the products of the faith message and the spiritual parentage of the Apostolic and Prophetic ministry of K. E. Hagin and the under-girding, shepherding ministry of K. W. Hagin. The impartation of the apostolic, prophetic and teaching anointing by the laying on of hands by Papa Hagin in 1998 took the ministries of Dr and Mrs Shana to another level of intensity, revelation and influence.

Besides providing oversight to the 35 Word Of Life International Churches all over the world and the growing number of affiliate churches, Dr G Shana is the current president of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe, an association of over 200 Evangelical and Pentecostal denominations with over 3 million individual members. Dr Shana serves as a board member on several boards of local and international organisations and is the current chair of Heads of Christian Denominations In Zimbabwe  (HOCD).

HOCD comprises the three main Christian mother bodies to which close to 7.5 million Christians in Zimbabwe are affiliated through over 200 denominations. Dr G. Shana played a significant role in the first mediation role of the church through the troika of the three bishops.

At Word of Life International we believe every member of the church must affect the sphere of the community that they live in, work in and interact with. Every person has a community and a world that the pulpit cannot effectively reach. Every person has a community and a sphere in that community that they could be the only and the best minister of the gospel available to it. Every sphere of every community deserves and needs an effective witness and demonstration of the gospel The Lord Jesus Christ said “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every person” (Matt 16: 15)

Word Of Life International Ministries believes that every member of the church has a God given responsibility of taking the whole gospel to the whole world one individual and one community at a time.
